I think one thing that I feel very cheated on since being an adult is that I’ve never entered that reckless spending phase of splashing out on designer treats. I mean, according to what I thought were the very realistic expectations set for me by watching Sex and the City, by the time I was in my late 20s, working and renting my own flat, I should also have had some expendable income to fund my designer shoe collection.

But no – you go from being a skint student to a skinter graduate to then a slightly less skint adult – but one who is now trying to save for a house deposit and/or getting more excited over the thought of buying a new cordless vacuum cleaner than some Balenciagas (*raises hand*)

Still, I’m all about the visualisation, and the above are the items currently on my money-is-no-object, ‘hello I’ve won the jackpot, now take all of my money’ designer wishlist. Of course, not all of them necessarily require a lottery win – the Armani foundation is around the £40 mark and so I could probably stretch to that if I cut back on the amount of bottomless brunches I’m currently consuming per month – but hey, I’ve got to live my Sex and the City dreams somehow.

As we draw to the end of 2018 – side note: how on EARTH?! – I’m going to make it one of my 2019 missions to save a little to treat myself to a few more luxury items. So watch this space to see which of the above end up entering my life next year (spoiler alert: it will definitely only be the foundation, and then the cordless vacuum. Sorry not sorry, Carrie).
