What Is An LVL Lash Lift? Review & Results

Beauty blogger reviewing LVL lash liftAs you might know if you’re a long-term follower, I’ve always been a fan of beauty treatments and procedures that can be seen as a bit ‘extra’. Hair extensions and acrylic nails have been a staple part of my very being since I was about 20, and I’ve dabbled in Hollywood lashes, dermal fillers and microblading. I suppose this makes it a bit surprising that I’ve just tried LVL lashes for the first time – really, where have I been? And why was I there with such stubby, rubbish lashes when I could have been WERKing these beauties?! View Full Post

The Bull’s Head, Meriden | Review

Bull's Head Meriden Review

Choosing where to go on a date night or mate-date night can be tricky enough at the best of times, once you’ve factored in everyone’s budgets, locations and the fact that one of your friends has a diet consisting mainly of toast (*cough* Jade *cough*). When eating and drinking are basically your number 1 hobby then this becomes even more difficult, as I usually feel like I’ve exhausted all of the local options and there aren’t many new or interesting places left to go.

This is why I was so excited to be invited along to the re-opening of The Bull’s Head in Meriden. Less than ten minutes from my house, I had been to this quaint country pub for Sunday lunches a couple of times in the past (and fun fact – it was also where James and I went for a drink on our first date two years ago)(okay ten, we had about ten drinks). This meant I knew I could expect lovely food and great service, but the recent refurbishment and new autumn menu added the feel of trying somewhere new. View Full Post

Travel Wishlist: The Road Trip Edition

CarOkay, so my fingers have only had five minutes’ rest since typing up my post on Albufeira, Portugal, but here we are – I’m thinking about holidays again. I can’t be the only one who deals with the back-to-work blues by planning my next trip, surely?

Since getting home I’ve spent many a lunch break flicking between Sky Scanner and Air BnB, just seeing – y’know, out of curiosity – what a ten-day jaunt to Italy next year could look like, or what the all-inclusive resorts of Jamaica have to offer vs those in Mexico. And then this handy little e-book from Kwik Fit landed in my inbox and I exited Sky Scanner faster than Gemma Collins bailed on I’m A Celeb (no, I don’t know why all my pop culture references have to be four years out of date either).  View Full Post

My Screen Time Stats Made Me Physically Sick & This is What I’m Going to Do About It

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Let’s start this post with the boring context-setting facts: over the summer I upgraded my mobile. It was goodbye iPhone 6S, hello iPhone 8 Plus (I like to always stay one or two models behind because it keeps me humble)(and lol I’m quite skint). With this upgrade I got not only a much bigger screen but also more memory, which meant that for the first time in about a year I’ve been able to actually keep on top of all the updates without worrying my phone might spontaneously combust overnight.

I thought the new updates might just give me more emojis to use when I can’t be bothered thinking of a good caption for Instagram, but there was one new feature that shook me to my core: the Screen Time tracker.  View Full Post

Home is Where the Heating Is: Winter Duvet Wishlist

Remember that amazing summer we just had? Nope, me neither. Already those seemingly endless days of sunshine, beer gardens and World Cup optimism seem like a lifetime ago. The wind and rain have turned up with a vengeance, and we’ve already had a few of those days where you’re not quite sure whether the sun’s actually come up because it’s so grey.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom (well, it is gloom – but not all doom). A new season always means the opportunity for a new winter wardrobe – but how about giving your bedroom a little seasonal makeover too?

A Couple’s Guide to Staying in Albufeira, Portugal

Wild & Co Albufeira

What do you do when you realise you’ve accidentally booked you and your boyfriend onto an 18-30s-style clubbing holiday? This was the question I was faced with earlier this year. After our gaw-juss holiday to Santorini last year, this year we decided to book somewhere a bit more cheap’n’cheerful (that house deposit isn’t going to fund itself, after all)(but, whyyyy?) and with a bit more of an atmosphere in the evening.

And thus, we ended up booking a hotel in Albufeira, Portugal. I’d never actually heard of it before. ‘The Algarve,’ I thought, ‘how fancy’. And then over the course of the next couple of months I heard of no less than three people heading there on stag weekends. What had I done? Was I accidentally going on a stag do with my boyfriend? Would we have to get matching tattoos on our arses?* View Full Post

My Dermal Fillers Experience (Nasolabial Folds)

Dermal Fillers Nose to Mouth LinesConsidering Instagram makes it look as if everyone in the country (plus their mums, plus their nans, plus their pets) have all had their lips done, and I’m pretty obsessed with trying any and all new beauty treatments, it’s surprising that I made it to the grand old age of 27 before I got any form of non-surgical tweaking. Yes, note the past tense. I’ve finally joined the masses and had a dermal filler treatment – but no, not in the lips like you might expect… View Full Post

7 Ways to Chic Up Your House

Bloom Magic bouquet in Scandi inspired white roomAs a gal who’s pretty obsessed with interiors – as in, I used to browse the homeware section of the Argos catalogue as a child, just for bants (yes I was very cool) – I’ve spent most of my adult life not really being able to gain much practical experience.

This is mainly because I’ve moved around a lot over the last ten years. At 18 I went from my mum’s house to uni, where I lived in three different houses (all with increasing levels of ick, naturally), then moved to my dad’s before I started renting with Lauren aged 22.  View Full Post
