Fit Gets Fashionable: Missguided Active vs Boohoo Fit

I make no secret of the fact that nothing gets me running (*cough* driving) to the gym faster than new gym clothes. Yes, I’m aware this is girly and ridiculous, but hey ho. The hunt for fashionable gym wear, though, has always been a hard one. I mean, I don’t know about you ladies but I’m just not going to spend £50-80 on some Nike leggings that I’m only going to wear for an hour and cover in butt sweat. I am not.

Which is why I was so excited to see that not just one but two of my favourite online retailers were bringing out much more affordable fitness ranges. Missguided have launched their Misguided Active range, while Boohoo is promoting its Boohoo FIT collection for January gym bunnies. Both are offering a mix of sports leggings, sports bras, vests and hoodies, with prices ranging from around £8-£25 (which is MUCH more in my butt sweat budget, FYI). So, two very similar brands offering similar ranges at similar price points. But…Which brand takes gold?Which brand will knock out the competition? Which brand will come out top of the league? … and which brand will be left eating the others’ dust? (Oh yeah, I know you loved that cheesiness really.)

Missguided CollageFirst up, we have Missguided. DROOL. It’s no surprise after the beaut co-ords they stocked last year that their matching sets are frankly amazing. I think wearing them together would attract a few strange glances at my gym, plus I am so untoned at the moment that I would look like a piece of ham stuffed in lycra, BUT I do think they’re still wearable for the braver fitness girls out there, and I would definitely wear them as separates. Their plainer pieces still have really nice touches, such as the crossover coral straps and motif tees. Of course I want the Run Bitch vest, even if I do just wear it to sit on a park bench and stare at people menacingly.

Boohoo CollageNext, we have Boohoo. They seem to have a bigger collection on first glance, though I’d argue that that’s because they’ve included a few sports-inspired pieces that actually might get you banned from your local gym. Yes, deep plunge ‘sports bra’ up there, I’m looking at you. The array of prints is still great though, and they also have a lot of mix and match potential.

Overall it’s really close between the two brands and I’ll definitely be trying pieces from both. I think that Missguided have the slight edge this time though, thanks to their bold two-pieces and less generic slogans. Yes, I also like anything that’s a bit sweary.

What do you think of these 2 ranges? Which is your favourite?

hmm, in all honesty I’m not keen on either of the collections. I don’t do crop tops anyway and I’m not keen on the writing on them or the patterns! It’s a shame really because I would imagine that they’re all very reasonably priced unlike their branded counterparts!

I was really disappointed in the Boohoo range. Missguided is the winner for me! #TrainDirty 😉

I think Missguided just edge it for me too! Hopefully both carry on bringing out more pieces in the ranges though 🙂 xx
