Life Hacks | Finding a Personal Trainer

Like everyone else in the country, the start of the year saw me launch into a new health kick. In my defense, I lived a healthy-ish lifestyle for most of last year, but Christmas saw me indulging in one (*cough* eight) too many Ferrerro Roches a day and getting a bit too slack on my gym routine. So in January I decided that 2017 would be the year I learned to cook healthier meals, and start taking exercise more seriously again. And guess what lads and ladettes? It’s now March and I’m kind of, actually, somehow, sort of bloody sticking to it!

Armed with the Lean in 15 book and with a new pash for the body pump classes at my gym, I’m slowly noticing a change in my fitness and strength (no visible change in my ginormous thighs yet, but one step at a time, yeah?). One thing that I think could give my results a push is a personal trainer, which I’ve toyed with the idea of getting for a couple of years. Thankfully, if I do bite the bullet and go ahead with finding a PT for my summer body, I know exactly where I’ll be looking: say hello to Bidvine*.

Bidvine is a website designed to connect people with professionals from whatever local service they’re looking for. Whether you’re in need of a gardener, man with a van, photographer, guitar teacher or personal trainer, you can find one at a cost that suits you through Bidvine.

I’ve had a little play on the website and it’s really easy to use. You simply choose the service you’re looking for, and answer some specific questions (e.g. in the case of my personal trainer hunt, how many times I would like to train, whether I’d prefer outdoor sessions or home visit, etc). Then, local service providers get in touch with you to tell you how much they would charge – meaning I get the choice of loads of personal trainers who I know can meet my needs, as well as upfront info on how much they charge! The professionals also have reviews on there from other users, helping you to make a more informed decision.

(I hope I’m not the only one thinking that I wish there had been something like this for dating back when I was single…)

For more information on how Bidvine works, click here. You can also give them a follow on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Do any of you use a personal trainer, and would you recommend it if so? Let me know in the comments!

The app sounds really helpful, but I’m just too lazy to organize workouts at the moment lol x

I got a personal training at the end of 2015 and noticed such a difference to training on my own. I go to a local gym in Glasgow
