MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick Review: Sensual Sparks

Why hi there,

Today I am bringing you some exciting news. I actually won a Dave Lackie competition on Friday (don’t follow Dave? Get with the pic). I never win anything and I may have launched myself across the room shouting “THE UNIVERSE IS MINE”. It turned out that my fabulous prize was a MAC lipstick and Aerin Lauder’s new perfume, Gardenia Rattan. Since I don’t agree with reviewing perfumes online (until there is some kind of ‘scratch and sniff’ screen function), I thought that I’d give you a super fun MAC lipstick review. Because we love MAC here at Stylingo. With the fiery passion of girls who have had an unfortunate bonfire incident.

The MAC lipstick I received (it came in literally 2 days. From Canada. How?!) was their Amplified Creme Lipstick. For those of you who don’t know, this lipstick finish is one of their most moisturisng and leaves quite a glossy result. I tend to prefer lipsticks that are a lot more moisturising, and this one definitely fits the bill well. As you can see from the swatch as well, it is quite pigmented and you don’t need loads and loads of layers for a good colour.

Which brings us nicely onto the colour. It’s a lovely nude, which is actually quite a lot darker than I usually wear (definitely part of the I-don’t-want-you-to-see-my-lips gang). Saying that, it has a marvy caramel/honey coloured pigment that I love – it’s called Sensual Sparks for those who want to hunt for it. I think it goes quite nicely with my new ginger head and I see myself getting some excellent everyday wear out of it. Really pleased with bells on!

And of course, where would a MAC lipstick review be without a mention of the smell? It smells like vanilla/caramel and I am seriously tempted to take a bite out of it to see if it tastes as good as it smells. Someone needs to invent a sweet that tastes like this lipstick smells.

Big thank you to Dave Lackie for sending these fabulous items, I’m so excited to wear this lipstick every day of my life and I am very upset that one day it will run out.

What do you think of this shade? What’s your favey MAC lipstick?

Ah this is a really pretty shade! Great for spring! Love a MAC lipstick, I normally use Angel for an everyday look and love Morange if I’m feeling bold! Haha x

It’s a gorgeous colour! I tend to go for lighter nudes but I might branch out and give this a try

Dave Lackie is my man, I swear.
