OOTD | Autumn/Winter 2017 at the Gracechurch Centre

Flip me guys – it’s only bloody autumn already! Yes, it’s basically felt like autumn since May (what is this ‘summer’ you speak of?), but it’s actually, officially, properly here now. And while the colder season can be crap for a number of reasons – dark mornings, hat hair, DE-ICER – there are also some major advantages. Costa’s Christmas drinks menu, for example. Stollen, for another. Aaaaand an excuse to go shopping for a new autumn wardrobe!

After visiting in the summer for their Fashion in the Frame campaign, I was recently invited back to The Gracechurch Centre to take part in their autumn/winter styling challenge. As before, the array of shops in the Gracechurch Centre are packed with the season’s must-have trends, and the one that I was challenged with styling up was shoulders. Whether you’re going for a bardot neckline, an 80s-inspired asymmetric number or a cold shoulder, this season it’s basically all about showing a little shoulder skin. With its cute double-strap and cross back detail, I instantly fell in love with this River Island bralette. In monochrome lace, it’s the perfect piece for autumn/winter and will go with so many outfits.

I decided to balance out the super dressy shoulders (or should that be the super undressed shoulders?) with a much more casual vibe on the bottom, and teamed the bralette with these FILA leggings from Topshop. Retro sportswear is absolutely having a moment right now, and the 90s kid in me is all over it. As is my inner slob – hello elasticated waistband. Throw on some strappy heels and overall I am loving this monochromatic am-I-going-to-a-bar-or-the-gym? shoulder-flashing outfit.

If you’re looking to update your wardrobe for autumn/winter then I recommend checking out the Gracechurch blog to see how other bloggers are styling up the key trends of the season – and of course, if you’re local then all you need to do is pop into Gracechurch to nab some of the key pieces for yourself.

What do you all think of this outfit? Let me know in the comments!
