Primark SS16 Collection: Wishlist

Primark SS16 CollectionI’ve got a bit of an earth-shattering confession to make: I kind of haven’t been loving Primark over the last six months. Whether it’s because I just haven’t been particularly inspired by fashion in general over the AW15 season, or because I’ve slightly grown out of the ‘this is £8 and therefore I must buy it’ mentality, I’m not sure; but I definitely haven’t been Primark haulin’ like I used to. However, the Primark SS16 collection is now upon us, and I’m thinking that this season could potentially reignite some flames of lurve.

At the Primark SS16 press day back in November, the womenswear design manager, Sam Chilton, outlined the 3 main trends for the collection. First there was ‘Humble & Laundered’, with lots of oversized, striped, neutral toned pieces. Then ‘Sheer Romance, with romantic lace and floral prints (I know what you’re thinking: “Floral for spring? Groundbreaking” but c’mon, you can’t go wrong really.) Finally, ‘Road to Morocco’ is all about embellishment, fringing and plenty of denim pieces.

Treat your eyes to some of my favourite pieces below:Primark SS16 Collection 1Primark SS16 Collection 2Primark SS16 Collection 3Primark SS16 Collection 4While I’m not completely blown away, I do like the general feel of the collection and definitely hope to pick up some of these key pieces. Of course I’m all over the largely monochrome and neutral colour palette, and I also like the simplicity, and how easy-to-wear everything looks. I used to get so many things from Primark, just because they were cheap 🙂 Actually I’m not blown away with this collection, they used to come up with better things before.

I’ve definitely been more excited by past seasons, I agree! But no doubt I’ll still end up throwing a fair bit in my basket over the coming months 😉 xx

I agree with you in the several months I haven’t been particularly crazy about Primark. Don’t get me wrong there have still been a few pieces I’ve bought and loved, but not nearly as much interests me as it used to. I think your selections here look great though and I do quite like the striped jumpsuit you’ve included. I’m so ready for the spring to finally start. Great post! Katie xx

I don’t think I’ve been to Primark is years now. I think I also grew of the “this is £8 I must purchase it” mentality when I realised not everything was of the best quality. These are definitely some cute pieces though especially the pink flower top!

OBSESSED with the stripy jumpsuit, need it in my life! I’m the same as you and haven’t been that keen on Primark recently but hopefully this is a sign of better things to come!

That co-ord at the bottom is right up my street! I agree with you though, I rarely find anything other than tights and tanning mitts in my local store, but your picks are lovely so fingers crossed it will continue!

    Jess, hi freckles xo

I haven’t shopped in Primark in ages. I feel like they have been slacking lately with their pieces. I usually just find the odd thing here and there. Hopefully they pick things up soon as I do miss a good Primark shop!
