Bourjois Twist Up the Volume Mascara Review

Bourjois Twist Up the Volume MascaraWhen it comes to choosing my next makeup product, 100% of the time I like to go with things that have been recommended to me. Okay, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration – sometimes I buy things because they’re new, or they’re on offer, or I’m kind of drunk (looking at you, duty free airport purchases). But, erm, a good 70% of the time… I like things that have been tried and tested by someone else first. So when my bezzie Katie told me about the Bourjois Twist Up the Volume mascara, and that someone at work had asked her if she was wearing FALSE EYELASHES when she had it on, I knew I had to get my grubby hands on it.

Twist Up the Volume is so called because you twist a part of the lid and it basically creates a second wand. What magic is this, you ask? Photos may explain better…

and twist!

Bourjois 5Now usually I would think this sort of gimmick is a bit naff, but OH MY, it is just fantastic. In all honesty, the mascara before twisting is pretty fantastic anyway – the bristles separate lashes well and the formula is super black and of that ‘wet’ consistency that I personally think works really well (think Benefit’s They’re Real). But once you’ve twisted the wand and used the other section it just adds a whole other level of fantasticness. My lashes are separated, lengthened, curled and jet black. And the lasting power is amazing; this looks practically as good at the end of the day as it does first thing.Bourjois eyes

I’ve been such a high-end mascara fan in recent months that I didn’t expect to ever be this impressed by a highstreet mascara again. Although at £10.99 it’s definitely not the cheapest of drugstore mascaras, it’s still the best I’ve tried for a really long time and I couldn’t recommend it more.

Have any of you tried Bourjois Twist Up the Volume mascara? What do you think?
