June 2015 Favourites

No, your eyes do not deceive you – I’ve actually managed to do a monthly favourites post for two months running. How bloody organised. Who knows what this new, organised Claire will do? Will I start doing all of my washing on time and not end up wearing bikini pants to work because I’m out of knickers? We can only dream, my friends.

So, moving swiftly onto my favourites from this month. June has been a great month for new products and shopping (and a significantly less great month for my bank balance). So here’s a brief rundown of my favourites…

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

You probably know by now that I jump on every bandwagon approximately seven years after everyone else, and so there’s really no need for me to fully review the Dipbrow Pomade from Anastasia Beverly Hills. This is a much-hyped product, and I was looking forward to seeing whether it was worth the £15. In brief: it is. While it hasn’t given me the magical, gradient-effect eyebrows that I lust after on Instagram, that is much more down to (lack of) technique than the product. The product itself is easy to work with, lasts on the face FOREVER (even after the gym, shock face emoji) and a little really goes a long way.

John Gosnell’s Original Vitamin E Cream

I’ve been trying to improve my skincare lately and have settled into a nice routine with my Soap and Glory Ultimelt Cleanser. But moisturiser was still one thing I wasn’t quite set on, finding most of them a bit too heavy or fragranced. These John Gosnell’s Original Vitamin E Creams* have proven to be a bit of a godsend, though. There’s a day and night cream, but both are very light on the skin and leave it feeling soft as opposed to weighed down or oily. The smell is also very fresh and subtle – it basically smells a lot like Nivea, which is a good thing in my books. Also, this shouldn’t matter but it does – HOW CUTE IS THE PACKAGING? I love the faux retro vibe; these pots would look beautiful if I actually had a sophisticated dressing table (as opposed to a manky old drawer… though they look nice in there too).

MUA Liquid Glow in ‘Champagne’

I’m not particularly proud to admit this, but over the past few months I had become a bit of a makeup snob and hadn’t really gone near any cheap brands for a while. However, now that I work in the city centre I have a lot more opportunity to go and linger around Boots and Superdrug, and during one of my lurker sessions, this liquid highlighter from MUA caught my eye. For just £4 I decided it was worth a go, and I’m SO glad that I picked this up. On its own as a highlighter I wouldn’t say it was quite pigmented enough for me, but a dollop of this mixed in with my foundation is currently creating quite a nice, dewy base that is really nice for the summer. It’s also good at upping my foundation by a shade or two on those days where I haven’t kept on top of my tanning game.

I wouldn’t usually include individual items of clothing in a favourite post (she says, as if she ever does them at all regularly) but my god, aren’t these absolutely beauties? There are some very similar heels in Office at the moment that cost £75, but these babies cost less than £30 including postage. You can buy them from this eBay seller and they come in plenty of other colours too.

I haven’t bought much from Primark in terms of clothes lately, but their accessories selection is SERIOUSLY on point right now. I picked up this matte, croc-effect clutch, purse and dusky pink fedora within a couple of weeks of each other.

So, those are my June favourites! What are yours? Let us know in the comments!

I just got the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade a few weeks ago and I seriously need to watch some tutorials because I am more Scouse brow than magical gradient effect right now!
