May 2015 Favourites

May 1

Yes, it is still May and so technically a tad early for a monthly favourites post. But by the time you read this, we’ll be enjoying a weekend in Liverpool courtesy of Travel Lodge, and so we decided you’d all forgive us for flouting the rules of time so brazenly. And please forgive that humbe-brag too. Thanks. Anyway, there are some products and brands I’ve been LOVING this month, and so with no further agadoo, here they are…

May 2

Feather iPhone 5S Case – IconemesisIconemesis are a bit of a cult iPhone case brand among bloggers and non-bloggers alike, and it’s clear to see why. They have a range of cases with illustrations from various designers, and they’re all so kitsch and unique. I love this feather design, and if you’re still living in the past and only have an iPhone 5S like me then this is actually in the sale right now for just £5 RIGHT HERE (if you have a 6 then you still have to pay full price, but that’s what you getting for being all modern and cool, ya losers). When I eventually upgrade to the 6 then I’ll definitely have my eye on this fox case.

Illamasqua Lipstick in Sangers* While I was at my old job, I was lucky enough to receive a You Beauty Discovery beauty box one month, and this little baby was one of the treats inside. It’s my first ever Illamasqua product (I know, have I been living under a rock? Answer: yes, it was very roomy) and I have to say it’s made me a bit of a convert to the brand. While I do think the packaging could do with being a little fancier considering this usually retails at a whopping £18.50, it is a really beautiful lipstick.

Beauty UK High Brow Definition Kit* This was another beauty box freebie, though this time from the Glamour Spring Edit box. Initially I wasn’t too bothered about trying this because I used an eyeshadow from my trusty Barry M palette for my eyebrows, but then I only went and LOST the whole palette. Ay karamba. So in stepped this brow kit and I ended up being so happy I gave it a try. The bottom-left shade is perfect for my brows, and the powder is both easy to apply and long-lasting. The kit comes with some teeny tweezers and a brush along with the three powder shades and the setting wax. This retails for just £3.99, making it a bloody bargain in my book. You can buy it from the Beauty UK website.

Barry M Speedy Nail Paint in Eat My Dust If you know me then you will know that I love nude nails, and it’s very rare that I stray very far from Barry M’s ‘Lychee’, aka the best nail colour ever IDST. However, I recently picked up this pastel blue shade from the new-ish quick-dry range, and I’m thoroughly in love with it. It’s absolutely perfect for spring, bringing in a bit of colour without being too bright.

Buffing Brush – eBay This is actually a re-purchase of mine, and one that I’m SO happy I made. This familiar looking brush is actually a Real Techniques dupe, bought via eBay for a teeny £1.59. It’s honestly such good quality, and does the job of buffing in my foundation perfectly. I lost my original one a long time ago and since then was using my Beauty Blender to apply foundation, but now that I’ve got this in my life again I can really see a difference. If you want the RT buffing brush but can’t be bothered buying the entire collection just for that one brush, then I really recommend trying this. It’s style 02 and can be bought from this seller.

Also, in case you’re wondering, the super fly print that you can see in the above picture is from Coco and Binx*, and is definitely also a fave this month! I covered the brand briefly in my April haul but now I finally have both prints framed I love them all over again. Everyone needs some Beyonce sass on their walls, fact.

What have you been loving this month? Let us know in the comments below.

Iphone case is sooo gorgeous! Sometimes I feel I want an iPhone, just because it’s really hard to get such pretty cases for other brands. Also, Illamasqua has some great products. I have Skin Base foundations, which have great range of shades, and photograph really well and if you are searching for a good primer, HydraVeil and MatteVeil are supposed to be really good 🙂
