Monthly Must-Haves #1

Monthly Must-Haves

So you know when you start working at a new job and then you have to switch from weekly pay to monthly pay and so have a few weeks with literally no money to your name but you still have bills like rent and water and electricity to pay and your car needs petrol to get you to your new job and you also have this stupid cat that won’t just go out and catch mice to eat like the self-sufficient pet you were secretly hoping for but instead demands you buy food to feed her and special medication to keep fleas off her and generally just carries on rinsing you despite the fact that you’ve explained to her that you don’t really have any income for a few weeks? Yeah, well, me too. So to keep myself occupied during these few weeks of legitimate skintness, I’ve decided to focus all of my attentions on things I plan to splurge on once that long-awaited payday rolls around at the end of the month.

First up – stationery. Which I believe is what all ballers spend their first big pay packet on, FYI. Paperchase have released their new 2016 diaries and everyone knows that you have to get in there early to avoid being left with the dregs of the diaries. I left it until January last year to buy my new diary (I know, what a rookie I was) and that is why I ended up with a diary full of recipes and spaces where I can write my children’s friends’ birthdays (wish I was kidding, not kidding). This year, I will not be so foolish. There are a few Paperchase beauties I have my eye on already, and of course while browsing the diaries, it’s also impossible to not take a little detour to the notebook section. Not only would this three pack be super useful for, y’know, notes and that, but wouldn’t they also make the cuuuuuutest prop in blog photos? Just say yes to justify my madness, please.

Next, I’m still on the hunt for some simple black ankle boots. They’re an autumn/winter staple, but the choice out there is so vast that I can’t make up my mind. Just having  a quick browse of the ankle boots at Brantano, Topshop and New Look will show you how much I’m struggling here, though I think my favourites at the moment are this pair, which are actually from Clarks (oh yes, I’ve reached the age where I care about quality. Kill me).

Next up, I am desperately in need of knitwear – lots and lots of knitwear. I’m not really a big cardigan fan, and instead would like to stock my autumn/winter wardrobe with loads of chunky jumpers in autumnal colours. I’m hoping that layering these over pencil skirts and cigarette trousers will make them work-appropriate. The higher the neck, the better too – maybe I can pull it over my head and get away with a little desk snooze? Both of these babies are from New Look, FYI.

Even once I’ve finally been paid, the chances are I’m still going to want to spend a lot of next month hibernating in my room at night. How can I do this without a new onesie? HOW? This is again from New Look, because apparently I’m obsessed right now.

And FINALLY, what must-have post this month would be complete without the new rose gold iPhone 6S? My contract isn’t up for a good few months yet, but I’ve totally been lured into the hype over this one (plus, my 5S has chosen this exact moment to start being crappy and getting a full memory despite me deleting loads – it’s a conspiracy, I tell ya).

Are any of these on your list of must-haves this week? Let me know in the comments!

I love anything rose gold and I really like the new iPhone! I didn’t get mine long ago though so I don’t have much of an excuse unfortunately! Boots are an essential for me and I’m like you – struggling with the amount of choice there is!

I also had a bit of a giggle about your money-eating cat! 😛

I just upgraded to a rose gold iPhone6 (my 5s was being ridiculous too!) and love it. It is definitely me favorite phone yet – I think its the best size and shape phone they have ever made and the camera is a little better. You are going to LOVE it!

Also, I have been on the hunt for some cute ankle boots too. Let me know if you find any good ones that are leather and somewhat inexpensive 😉
