Outfit of the Day: Winter Pastels & Leather Leggings

OOTD 15th Oct FInalJumper: c/o New Look | Leather-Look Leggings: River Island (old) | Shoes: Converse | Beanie: H&M | Jewellery: Primark

I face many, many challenges as we head into winter, including how to avoid slipping over on the ice when wearing heels and how to go about sneaking my slanket into work with me. The biggest one of all though, is trying to battle my natural instincts to wear nothing but chunky knitwear, leggings and Uggs. My penchant for dark colours also comes out most strongly during the colder months, so if left to my own devices I would most likely be constantly seen solely in big, dark jumpers, as if in mourning for, I dunno, my fashion sense?

I therefore decided that this mint jumper from New Look HAD to be mine if I wanted a fighting chance of keeping some sort of colour in my winter wardrobe. How nice is the colour?! It’s perfect for the winter pastel trend, which I decided to make the most of by also wearing my lilac Converse. The jumper’s an Angora blend, so feels very luxurious, if a tad itchy (it’s the itch of rich people though, so you have to love it). It’s actually quite a slim fitting jumper, so I bought this in a size 16 for a slouchy, oversized feel.

The beanie’s also a new addition to my wardrobe. I can never really decide if I suit hats; I have a weirdly massive head and I think sometimes they emphasize that while making my face look even smaller, like a pea. However, beanies are just too comfy to ignore this winter, and this one cost just £3.99 from H&M so is an absolute bargain. They’re also superb for hiding roots – er, not that that’s why I’m wearing mine… ahem.

OOTD 15th Oct Collage AccessoriesI like the mixture of prettiness and grunge in this outfit. Did I just say grunge? Yes, I unfortunately did, let’s just move on with our lives. It’s also ludicrously comfortable and so could perhaps be the sort of outfit to pull me out of my boring routine this autumn/winter.

What do you all think of this outfit? What are your tips for staying stylish in the winter months?

This is such a cute outfit 🙂 As someone who is usually in black, oxblood or white, I’m trying to be brave with pastels this season too!

How do you feel about the disco pants? Considering getting a pair for the weekend but I’m not sure they can handle all this booty I got goin’ on. Leave them to the skinny minnies?

Oh snap, absolutely love oxblood at this time of year! In fact I’m wearing it now haha 🙂 but definitely trying to branch out a bit more! Ahh the disco pant dilemma, tbh I’ve never tried any in for the same booty worries! But they look so flattering on other people, even girls with a bit more junk in the trunk – and such a nice alternative to normal leggings or jeans! I say go for it 😉 xx

I am head over heels in love with my leather-look leggings and they get SO much wear, but I always pair them with heels – don’t know why but I’ve never thought to dress them down. I’m an eejit! Love this look though xx

Ah I was exactly the same! It’s a bit daunting wearing them casually but it’s such a nice change 🙂 xx

I love this outfit, it looks so snug and comfortable. I’ve worn something similar during the autumn and winter months before but it was a wine jumper instead and Dr Martens boots. 🙂

Love the jumper too! But I have really sensitive skin, so I think it being itchy would irritate my skin quite badly, which is a shame. 🙁

I absolutely love wine/burgundy for winter! Ahh yeah it may do, though maybe wearing a vest top underneath could help 🙂 xx

They’re great for hiding bad hair days but unfortunately also leave you with a bad hair day haha, so I always need to commit to wearing them for the full day which isn’t entirely practical! xx
