Stila Stay All Day Range | Foundation, Eyeliner & Liquid Lipstick Reviews

Stila Stay All Day ReviewThere are some brands that are on your wishlist for a really long time, but for one reason or another you just never get round to trying them. Stila was one such brand for me, so when I was invited along to a one-on-one session with their head makeup artist recently, there was so much for me to learn and try in one go. I left that makeover session fully converted to the brand, and very luckily received a couple of my favourite products from the Stila Stay All Day range a few days later.

As they all promise the same high quality and longevity as standard, I thought it would make sense to give them all mini-reviews in one post. If you scroll down to the bottom, then you can also see a full Stay All Day makeup look. Oh, and if the name of the range has made East 17’s ‘Stay Another Day’ automatically start playing in your head too, then you’re not alone.

STAY NOW, STAY NOW…

Stila Stay All Day Foundation* | Review

Stila Stay All Day Foundation Buff ReviewStila Stay All Day FoundationYou all know that I love quite a high coverage, so I was excited to try the Stay All Day foundation, which is a matte, medium coverage foundation that is very buildable to full coverage. The makeup artist, Sascha, showed me how she creates a heavier coverage by buffing a thin layer into the skin first, and then blending a second layer on with a sponge or Beauty Blender to create the flawless base. Stay All Day Foundation claims to use an ‘innovative oxygenating formula’ that allows your skin to breathe underneath, and also promotes healthy and radiant skin. While I wouldn’t describe the finish as radiant or glowy at all – it really is matte-mate – I do agree that this foundation doesn’t seem to gather or oxidise as other full coverage formulas do.

One really nice touch about the foundaton is that it comes with a matching concealer, cleverly hidden in the lid. I really like this, as there’s nothing worse than handing over upwards of £30 for a foundation and then having the assistant try to push the matching concealer on you for another £18. Why must you try to bankrupt me? So the inclusion of this little pot of concealer is an absolute dream, in my opinion. I like it so much that it actually helps me to overlook the lack of pump with the bottle – and you know that’s something that usually makes me rage like Godzilla and makes me want to smush Debenhams beneath my feet. It does come with a kind of spatula to help you distribute the liquid, which is at least better than nothing.

Overall,  I really do like the Stay All Day Foundation, and after wearing it on a very sweaty night out recently (during which I got TRAPPED IN A LIFT FOR AN HOUR, no joke), I can confirm that it holds up really well. I have the shade Buff, which is actually a tad too dark for me at the moment, but is perfect for tanned nights out and will also be perfect for the summer. The foundation costs £29.50 via the Stila website.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick* | Review

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick DolceThe famous Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks are what made me really want to try Stila products in the first place. A couple of years ago when the Rimmel Apocalips came out, Stila’s Liquid Lipsticks were frequently mentioned as the kind of original, ‘one to beat’ versions of the product. Now, liquid lipsticks are all over the market and a lot of budget brands have their own offerings – but is the original worth the hype?

I tried the shade ‘Dolce’,  which is a gorgeous brown-nude, and I can confirm that YES it is. The formula is matte, but is very creamy to apply and so doesn’t feel like it will be at all drying. Once on, it feels completely weightless and doesn’t start to get cakey or patchy. These promise around 6 hours of wear time; I would say I’ve got about 4 out of Dolce before I would definitely want to reapply, but that’s more because the colour intensity just fades rather than it looking bad (though it’s also worth pointing out it will fade quicker in the middle of your mouth if you eat and drink a lot). Generally I really love this, and definitely want to pick up more shades. The Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks will set you back £16 each though (more than MAC, sob), so they’re definitely more of a treat purchase for me personally.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner* | Review

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner ReviewStila Liquid EyelinerFinally, we have the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. I am quite fussy when it comes to liquid eyeliners, more so out of necessity than anything else. I’m completely cackhanded and so need something that’s easy to apply, and also suffer from eyes that randomly water a lot (anything from a strong breeze to realising there are no teabags yet can do it) so need a formula that’s going to stay put. Thankfully, this eyeliner ticks both of those boxes. It’s a felt-tip style brush, which although a little bit thinner than the Collection one that I’m used to, is still surprisingly easy to use. It glides over the eyelid really nicely without pulling, and leaves me with a nicely tapered flick.

The waterproof formula does mean that you have to act quickly if you make any mistakes, because once this has dried it isn’t going anywhere without a bit of a fight. However, it’s nothing that a good makeup remover and cotton pad can’t tackle. The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner can be bought here for £14.50, and it’s available in 10 shades for those feeling adventurous (there’s even a white one, which I think is a first for liquid eyeliners in my book).

As promised/threatened, here’s a full face of the day I created using my Stila products:

I love the dolce liquid lipstick on your lips! Overall, the products sound really good! I’ve never tried Stila, but I’m on the hunt for another med-full coverage foundation and this seems like a real winner 🙂

I absolutely love that liquid liner (I have very watery eyes too!). I think the foundation would be too matte for my personal taste but I’ve seen lots of people raving about it! xx

Glad you get on with it too 🙂 Yeah it is very matte so if that’s not your thing you might not like it too much! xx

Definitely, I know that no amount of wind or eye watering is going to budge it haha! xx

I have the Stila Liquid Lipstick in Baci and it’s such a unique shade! Dolce looks absolutely gorgeous too. Not sure the foundation would be for me as I have quite dry skin and it might be a little too matte! But it looks fab on you xo
