Outfit of the Day: H&M Crop Top & Split Maxi Skirt

HI GUYS.

It’s Friday afternoon, I’m buzzing for the weekend and nothing can bring me down…apart from the fact I look like an absolute lunatic in these photos pahaha. But ya know, sometimes your face doesn’t behave and your hair looks rubbish. It’s just something that we all have to deal with together, no dramz.

Anywho, this is an outfit I’ve actually worn about a million times in the past few weeks. I bought the top just before Christmas for a night out with my chums back in Cheshire (where we went cow tipping and engaged in other country pursuits). It’s not my usual style, but I’ve come to love the almost-stripey pattern, especially since it scanned as ‘Fancy Jersey Top’ at the checkout. Nothing will lure me in more than something that has the word ‘fancy’ in it. As you may have guessed, this bad boy is from H&M and has become quite the staple in my ‘drobe (Claire has introduced me to layering crops over skater dresses for work and it is brilliant).

OOTD COllage One

I paired my crop top with a new-ish maxi skirt, which is incidentally from H&M too. It’s from their basics range and has a delightful split to the knee – not too saucy but saucy enough to say ‘HEY, we’re not Victorian, look at my ankle and shin’. There’s not too much to say about it other than that, apart from the fact that it is black and is a skirt. Huzzah.

OOTD COLLAGE 2

After slinging on my Primark triangle necklace (which I’ve featured on our Instagram account quite a lot.) and my new Primark boots, I was ready to clomp around like a manic with wonky head.

I’m SUPER not happy with my nail varnish though, which is a Kelly Brook ‘matte effect’ one. It’s bloody useless and is no more matte than my shiny nose is right now. It’s more of a textured effect (with what appears to be bits of sand in it) and basically makes it look like a mollusc has done your nails. Thankfully, I didn’t actually buy this (I, erm, found it lurking around my fella’s flat so tactfully robbed it) but be warned – Kelly Brook cannot make nail varnish, no matter who tells you she can.

For anyone who is interested, my lipstick is Kate Moss for Rimmel in shade 16. It’s rather good and has brilliant pigmentation.

What do you all think about this little outfit?

Outfit of the Day: Burgundy Midi Skirt & Primark Jumper

ootd

Good lord, I look like a cankled idiot. OH WELL.

Apart from apparently developing cankles overnight, I’m excited to be heading out for some dinner and this is the outfit I chose to put on my body. I absolutely love high necked/turtle neck jumpers at the moment and this one is actually from Primark (isn’t everything I own?). It’s not the best fit (a little on the baggy side) but it is suuuper comfy and goes with pretty much everything. It’s slightly cropped in that just-above-the-belly-button-I’ve-time-traveled-to-1992 way, which is surprisingly nice. It’ll still be in stores now (I only bought it about a month ago!) and I think it was around the £8 mark. Or maybe £10.

My skirt is really really old, I bought it for my 21st birthday night out in the hope that a midi skirt would make my life less tragic. It must be a magic skirt, because I have a job and a house now! There’s not too much else to say about my wizard skirt, apart from the fact I love the colour and it’s a bit of a wardrobe staple.

I teamed my cankles top and skirt with a signature gold chain, weird mother of pearl ring and my favey favey new boots. Which are also Primark. C’est la vie.

face

And here is my little face. There seems to be panic in my eyes and I don’t know why, sob. I absolutely addoooreeeeeee this lipstick, which is Kate Moss for Rimmel shade 04. Other than that, I have my new Seventeen eyebrow kit (read about it here!) on my wonky eyebrows and some eyeliner and what not.

accessoriesWe can ignore my strange pale hands for the most part, although I do have my new suede nail varnish on. That doesn’t look anything like suede but it is a lovely metallic/matte colour anyway! And these badboy boots ARE MY FAVOURITE THINGS EVER. I’ve worn them pretty much constantly since I bought them at the weekend. They’re comfy, sturdy and have enough of a heel/detail to not look like lesbian boots. HURRAH.

What do you think of this outfit? Yay or nay?? (PLEASE NOT NAY).

Outfit of the Day: Missguided Jewel Print Skater Dress

Hi chums,

Things have all got somewhat unusual recently and Claire and I actually have quite a busy social calendar. You can usually find us Stylingo gals discussing the pros and cons of sweet potatoes (there are no cons) whilst watching Catfish on the sofa. However people have suddenly decided that we are not mad and invited us to things. December is a sooooooper busy month for both of us and of course with any busy month comes the insatiable need for new threads.

We both went to an absolutely excellent party on Saturday night, complete with a buffet and cupcakes (which we very nearly sprinted to as soon as we arrived). I picked out this Missguided skater dress a few weeks ago to wear to the disco party – and I am of the opinion that it’s a corker. I love the gem/jewel print and the colour is quite unusual for me (PARDON, YOU ARE NOT WEARING CREAM OR CHIFFON, LAUREN). Unfortunately, I had to size down as they only had smaller sizes in stock – which meant I couldn’t eat as many cocktail sausages as I would have liked.

And this was what my face looked like. I apologise for looking so dead behind the eyes. We had a work’s Christmas party the night before and safe to say, wine/jaegerbombs/vodka/who knows what else were merrily drunk. As was I.

Outfit of the Day: Primark Clashing Prints

BONJOURNO.

In my eternal bid for being a bit more interesting when it comes to my very own (slightly crap) personal style, I decided to go a bit wild for work yesterday. I’m very much the type of girl who wears a boring array of plain things on a day-to-day basis. Occasionally I might go a bit mad and don a garment that is a bit out there (i.e. when I went out for Claire’s birthday dressed as the Sistine Chapel, which you can see right here if you wish), but for the most part I’m lurking around in black like a pervert in mourning.

To shake things up a bit, I decided to go for some clashing prints to throw myself into the deep end of not looking like a snore. I bought these trousers quite a while back and they are SUPER comfy and super useful. The jazzy monochrome shirt was also bought a while back now and it’s another one that is comfy but can be worn for work/evening/dancing with leprechauns.

Once again, it appears I have revealed that I am a troll that doesn’t shop anywhere but Primark. I have to say that only the other day I was wearing an outfit that had no Primark items in it whatsoever. It happens very occasionally, but it does happen DON’T WORRY. But anyway, it’s a cheap and cheerful outfit and I actually felt like I’d made an effort for once.

Until today. I’m wearing a grey midi dress and black tights. Lets all lay our heads on our desks and have a little nap.

What do you think of my Primark clashing prints? YAY OR NAY?

If any of you beautiful ladies have any blog posts about your clashing prints, send them my way! My mission for an interesting wardrobe continues…

Outfit of the Day: Winter Pastels & Leather Leggings

OOTD 15th Oct FInalJumper: c/o New Look | Leather-Look Leggings: River Island (old) | Shoes: Converse | Beanie: H&M | Jewellery: Primark

I face many, many challenges as we head into winter, including how to avoid slipping over on the ice when wearing heels and how to go about sneaking my slanket into work with me. The biggest one of all though, is trying to battle my natural instincts to wear nothing but chunky knitwear, leggings and Uggs. My penchant for dark colours also comes out most strongly during the colder months, so if left to my own devices I would most likely be constantly seen solely in big, dark jumpers, as if in mourning for, I dunno, my fashion sense?

I therefore decided that this mint jumper from New Look HAD to be mine if I wanted a fighting chance of keeping some sort of colour in my winter wardrobe. How nice is the colour?! It’s perfect for the winter pastel trend, which I decided to make the most of by also wearing my lilac Converse. The jumper’s an Angora blend, so feels very luxurious, if a tad itchy (it’s the itch of rich people though, so you have to love it). It’s actually quite a slim fitting jumper, so I bought this in a size 16 for a slouchy, oversized feel.

The beanie’s also a new addition to my wardrobe. I can never really decide if I suit hats; I have a weirdly massive head and I think sometimes they emphasize that while making my face look even smaller, like a pea. However, beanies are just too comfy to ignore this winter, and this one cost just £3.99 from H&M so is an absolute bargain. They’re also superb for hiding roots – er, not that that’s why I’m wearing mine… ahem.

OOTD 15th Oct Collage AccessoriesI like the mixture of prettiness and grunge in this outfit. Did I just say grunge? Yes, I unfortunately did, let’s just move on with our lives. It’s also ludicrously comfortable and so could perhaps be the sort of outfit to pull me out of my boring routine this autumn/winter.

What do you all think of this outfit? What are your tips for staying stylish in the winter months?

Outfit of the Day: Motel Bardot Dress

I look like I’m about to topple over in this picture. I have no idea why I thought the Leaning Tower of Pisa was an appropriate inspiration for a pose, but it happened so we all need to deal with it.

OOTN Birthday Collage
Dress: Motel Rocks | Shoes: eBay | Rings: New Look & Primark | Bag: Forever 21 | Lipstick: Sleek ‘Cherry’

This was what I wore out for my 23rd birthday last weekend. As I was pretending to be sophisticated I made everyone go out for a meal first, so chose a skater dress so I would have the freedom to wolf down carbs. And wolf I did – oh lasagne, men will come and go but you will always be my one true love.

OOTN Birthday 3And you, eBay shoes, shall always be my second. Mwah.

What do you all think of this outfit? Have you bought anything from Motel recently? Or visited the Pisa? Anyone?

Outfit of the Day: Birthday Marc B Bag!

Hey loves! As you may know from Lauren’s very kind Twitter proclamations, yesterday was my 23rd birthday.  I’ll have a full birthday post including all the lovely goodies I’ve received coming soon, but for now I thought I would quickly share my OOTD, including one new very special piece of arm candy… MY NEW MARC B BABY.

OOTD 4th October Collage Cardigan – Primark / Cami – Primark / Jeggings – Topshop / Frilly Socks – Primark / Ankle Boots – New Look / Necklace – Tiffanys / Bag – Marc B

I just had a very casual day for my birthday yesterday, which involved popping into town for some lunch and – of course – a bit of shopping, hence my very casual outfit. I don’t know about all of y’all, but making an effort to dress nice-ish for work each day (which we don’t have to, but ever since I accidentally ended up getting VIP tickets to Rihanna and had to go dressed like a tramp, I like to make more of an effort in case anything else is sprung on me) means that when I get a day off I just enjoy slouching around.

A huge thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday on Twitter! I’ve had a brilliant one so far, and the fun is continuing over into the weekend – HUZZAH. Maybe being 23 won’t be so boring after all.

Outfit of the Day: ASOS Petite Midi Dress

OOTN 29th Sep CollageDress – ASOS Petite(sold out) / Shoes – New Look (old) / Bracelets & Ring: Primark

Bonjour and hola my wee lasses. Just a quick OOTD post for you today to show you what I wore to my sister’s fiance’s 30th on Saturday night. I know it’s a pretty boring outfit, but I was told the party was a ‘suave occasion’ involving champagne so it didn’t seem like the right place to try something creative with mesh and snapbacks (as I usually would, of course).

I know the printed midi has pretty much has its day now as far as evening wear goes, but it was for this reason that I managed to snap up this dress for only £11.50 so I wasn’t complaining. Because of the busy print I kept everything else simple, with a pair of trusy old suede heels from New Look, small silver jewellery and my new flowing locks curled and pinned to one side.

OOTN 29th Sept CloseI also accessorised with a big massive CARB BELLY as the low back of the dress meant I couldn’t wear my fat pants. I suffered some serious baguette regret from my overly large lunch, I tell you.

Outfit of the Day: Primark Tie Dye Midi Dress

Hello fellow voley girls,

Once again, I am writing to you from the land of bag pipes and tartan wearing fools. I saw some grand scenery yesterday and frightened my family by shouting ‘FLY YOU FOOLS, THE ORCS ARE UPON US’ and legging it down the road. The things I do to amuse myself and others. I’m somewhat worried that my parents think they have raised a lunatic. They would be correct in this thinking.

P1060701

This is just a little outfit of the day and one that I have been wearing quite a lot since I bought it for practically nothing a few weeks ago (£5 from Primark, ring the merry bells of England!). I really love it – the fit is pretty flattering and it’s a nice casual one to whack out for work/dinner and everything inbetween. My only beef with it is that it is a bit too long. I meant to force my mother at gunpoint to shorten it for me but then I remembered that I don’t have a gun/she isn’t my slave. I still might get her to work her magic, but the length has actually grown on me now so I may just leave it (cool story, Lauren).

I jazzed up the tie dye with some gold jewellerry, a messy topknot and some nude lipstick (e.l.f, £1 I recall). I’m not sure why I have such a pervert face in this picture, I do apologise.

My shoe situation is dire as I forgot to bring anything normal to Och Aye Land, so I just have a pair of standard black pumps to protect my hooves. They are the reason my legs look about zero inches long. I couldn’t look anymore like a midget if I tried.

Outfit of the Day: Neon Skater Skirt at Wireless Festival

Good afternoon one and all. After suffering from a terrible case of bloggers’ block, dithering about what to write about today and Claire threatening to throw her pen at me (SEE WHAT I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH?!), I have finally settled on filling you in on my weekend.

If you follow our Twitter account, you may have noticed a slight lack of activity on my part (I can tell you’re thinking, ‘Ah, this is why I felt a horrible sense of loss over the weekend’). This was because I took the plunge and decided to leave the comforting streets of Coventry to hit the big city with my pal for Wireless Festival. After agonising for MONTHS about what to wear, I ended up spending Thursday night cleaning the house, lying on my bed reading ‘Dancing in my Nuddy Pants’ and generally not choosing what to wear. I’m half on a spending ban at the moment (tell that to WH Smith’s and their half price note pads), so I decided to be frugal and not buy anything new (which was probably sensible as port-a-loos and new outfits don’t mix brilliantly). However, it did mean getting up at 7am on Friday and charging around my room in my pantaloons with a horrible sense of panic. We’re having beautiful scorching weather (WOO), so being too hot was a no-no. Unfortunately, I also burn like Guy Fawkes and Joan of Arc on a hot (paha) date, so I need to be covered too. PROBLEMATIC? Horribly.

I ended up settling for a neon yellow skirt I bought a month or two ago, a black body, a pair of casual sandals and a chunky gold necklace (obviously channeling my inner Waka Flocka Flame). I teamed it with a denim jacket while we were still in Coventry because at that point it was cloudy and I didn’t want to look like a raving lunatic at 9am. Surprisingly, I wasn’t too boiling at Wireless. Which was most likely because of the lovely hydrating pints of cider I was drinking, mmm appley.

I thought I’d give you a little picture tour of my day on Friday; I didn’t take many snaps as I was too busy realising how much I love Ke$ha.

I only went for the day on Friday, so me and my lovely friend stayed at a hotel in Shoreditch, did a bit of shopping in the Spitalfields Market on Saturday and then headed back to our respective homes. Claire and I headed out in Birmingham on Saturday night, which we should hopefully have some outfit of the night posts up soon (I wore Claire’s trousers, so no new exciting clothes there either. Sniff.).

My highlights of Wireless were definitely Frank Ocean (still swooning) and of course, Justin Timberlake. Did anyone else head to Olympic Park this weekend?
