I took these photos about half an hour ago in beautiful sunshine, and now as I’m writing this there’s a thunderstorm and it’s pissing it down. I kid you not. Welcome to the Great British summer, everyone!
Despite the occasional downpour, it’s still scorchio here in England at the mo. On the one hand, this is great and I shouldn’t complain, but on the other hand, I feel like my summer wardrobe is still seriously lacking and so I’m finding myself at a bit of a loss as to what to wear. Thankfully, I found this little skater dress from H&M last month for my niece’s Communion, and it’s proven to be quite the versatile piece since then. It’s so simple but flattering, and is perfect for that kind of effortless dressing that I think is really important in summer (I mean, we have other things to worry about than what to wear, such as what flavour Magnum we want or how we’re going to stop our eyebrows from sliding off in the heat).
I love nude and white together as an alternative from black and white, so my sleeveless blazer from Missguided is perfect for layering – and can also act as a makeshift shelter from the storm if needed. How’s that for versatility?!
With heels, the dress and blazer could look really dressy, but I’ve gone for a more casual look with these gorgeous sliders that I was kindly given by Shoezone. They’re a nude mock-croc effect with a thick white sole, and I’ll admit I had no idea Shoezone did such on-trend pieces. They also sell them in plain white and black, and for just £12.99 a pair, I’m very tempted to chuck them both in my online basket too.
