So, you all know that advert where Nicola Scherzinger talks about having bad skin and confidence issues just like us, and we all scream ‘you’re lying, you goddess!’ and throw our remotes at the telly and then run from the room crying? Yeah? Well then, you will most probably know that the skincare range that Scherzy is promoting in that advert is Proactiv.
While I do struggle to believe that Nicole has ever had a bad skin day in her life, the sway of advertising is a powerful thing, and so I was delighted when I was recently offered the chance to review the Proactiv + 3 Step System. I’ve never had particularly bad skin, and don’t often have breakouts. However, I’m still not at all happy with my skin without makeup, and would never contemplate going out without at least a BB cream on. I would say that I have 3 main issues with my skin, which you can delightfully see yourself above. These are:
- clogged pores around my nose
The Proactiv + 3 Step System claims to be able to help with all of these, as well as clearing blemishes, controlling oily skin, diminishing the appearance of dark marks, hydrating and softening the skin, relieving irritation and enhancing radiance. Sounds good to me, let the radiance commence!
- Skin Smooth Exfoliator Cleanser
- Pore Targeting Treatment Cream
- Complexion Perfecting Hydrator Moisturiser
I also have their Skin Purifying Mask to use a couple of times a week.
I’m really looking forward to giving Proactiv + a chance, as I know I’ve always been a bit lazy with my skincare and I think I need quite a strict regime like this to really see what difference I can make. Rather than just masking my flaws with makeup, it would be nice to actually have skin that I can be proud of without sixteen layers of foundation (I joke, obviously – my foundation is too expensive to use that much). I’ll be reporting back in 12 weeks with updated photos of my skin, so wish me luck!
