Outfit of the Day: Lion Print Smock Dress

Fashion Blogger Smock DressLion Print Smock Dress: ASOS / Shoes: eBay / Necklace: Primark

I love lions. I love dresses. So what’s not to love about this lion print dress?!

I’d been after a smock dress for a while now, though I wasn’t really sure whether they’d suit me seeing as they have a tendancy to be a bit swampy and I’m approximately the size of a Borrower. ASOS always have a good selection of them in though, and  once I saw this printed version I fell in love and decided to bite the bullet and try it out.

Fashion Blogger Smock DressI’ve teamed the dress with my new eBay sunglasses which I LOVE with the passion of a thousand men (a thousand passionate men, I hasten to add… a thousand passionate Latin men with stomachs full of tequila). They were only £3.99 and can be nabbed here if you too want to embrace a bit of steampunk eyewear.

So, back to the dress… I decided to size down to a size 6 and let me tell you, it is still bloody massive. I know it’s meant to be loose fitting, but I actually laughed out loud – a genuine, bonfide LOL – at how huge it was when I got it out of the packet. I suppose I should see this is a good thing though, as if we forget to pay our rent and get evicted then at least there’s definitely enough room for me, Lauren and the Bonus Jonas to all live inside my dress. I mean, really…

OOTD 13th April 5It’s a biiiiiiiiiiiiiit ridiculous maybe? I know some girls look amazing in these dresses, but I’m not sure my petite frame can really pull it off. I do adore the lion head print though so I may persevere. OH WHO THE HELL KNOWS.

Outfit of the Day: Primark Check Co-Ord

OOTD 22nd March CollageCo-Ord: Primark / Crop Top:  Topshop / Necklace: Primark / Shoes: eBay

Get out the banners and assemble the marching band, for this is worthy of a celebration – I finally got my hands on a co-ord! Despite my local Primark being masters of uselessness and not having any of their matching pieces together, as soon as I saw this jacket I was on a mission to track down the co-ordinating shorts that I knew existed. Ten minutes later I was on my hands and knees, ignoring the barging I was getting from surrounding pushchairs and rooting along the bottom rail in search of my size as I had finally tracked them down.

This co-ord makes me feel like a mixture of Cher from Clueless and some sort of football hooligan (I know, way harsh Tai). The bomber jacket top adds a very casual dimension, making the co-ord lie somewhere between a short suit and a cut-off shellsuit. It’s kind of odd, but I kind of definitely like it.

OOTD 22nd March Collage 2ALSO, can I draw some attention to my mighty fine new necklace, also from Primark? I’m going to be posting a haul either tomorrow or the day after (or maybe even the day after that – but definitely some time this millennium, hold tight) of a few the other bits I got on my Primark shopping trip so I won’t bang on about it too much. I just want you to be aware it exists and I love it.

The jacket was £15 and the shorts were £10, meaning this whole co-ord is a mere £25 (watch out Carol Vordermon). That is an absolute snip as for something similar in Topshop you’d easily be looking at probably three times that. The necklace was only £4, which was good as I think Primark have been getting a bit carried away with their jewellery pricing lately. I swear I saw something for SIX POUNDS recently; what an outrage.

Anyway it’s Saturday and we’re off to a super exciting event tonight with work so I need to go and piss off. BYE.

What do you think of this co-ord?

Outfit of the Day: 1460 Vintage Rose Dr Martens

OOTD Docs Collage 2Top: New Look / Jeggings: Topshop / Chain: eBay / Doc Martens: c/o Cloggs.co.uk

Oops, the bitch face strikes again. In my defence though, I think when taking these photos I had to settle for a casual bitch face or risk cracking out into the gompiest smile ever, because I’m so IN LOVE with my new Doc Martens!

I know they’re not to everyone’s tastes – most of the boys in the office stared at me blankly when I proudly tried to show them off, while one just said “Er… are they your new gardening shoes?” – but I think they’re absolute beauties. The floral pattern is such a fun take on the traditional 1460 boot, and I know I’ll get plenty of wear out of them (once I’ve eventually broke them in anyway… I’m currently wearing them in bed). A huge thank you to Cloggs for sending these my way; they also stock Converse, Vans, Hunters, UGGs, Jeffrey Campbells and basically every other brand you could want so definitely check them out dear readers!

OOTD Docs Collage 3For their first outing I’ve teamed my beloved boots with my new waffle-texture top from New Look. I chose to finally get on board with the baby pink trend, but they also stock this in pale blue, cream and black. I don’t really venture into New Look all that much these days, but I definitely need to start as this was a little bargain at £12.99 and I think it’s really versatile.

I’m off to gaze at my boots some more now, bye bye and farewell.

Currently Watching: eBay Wishlist #4

I’ve recently begun to love eBay again. If I am honest and don’t lie to you great guys and gals, Claire has always been the eBay Queen in our vonderful little friendship. I don’t really have the patience for it and I also feel like bidding is too tense. I remember literally shaking once because I was in a bidding war with some bint who won a BNWT Topshop dress. Scary, scary times.

But because I’m poor and sad, I’ve started to sell stuff on eBay again and have also started browsing for the excellent bargains to be had. Without further ado, here is what is on my eBay watch list at the moment.

collage

1. Chunky Chelsea Boots – I’ve had my eye on these for AGES and even though I know Spring is on the way, I still want them. BEAUTIFUL FOOT THINGS.

2. Floral Tailored Trousers – These are actually Boohoo trousers but are super cheap on eBay – they’re literally so beautiful and I feel like they might not actually make my legs look horrible.

3. Holographic Platform Sandals – I need these. There’s nothing more to be said.

4. 90s Tattoo Choker – I’ve finally decided to embrace the 90s trend properly. Claire has already bought one of these, so now I want one too!

5. Pink Boyfriend Coat – Again, I know it’s nearly spring but I still wear my coats until I really don’t have to anymore – this pink one is so pretty and perfect for Spring!

6. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush – I’ve wanted one of these for so gaaaad daayyym long and this is only a tenner on eBay. Super rude not to.

What do you all think? Anything on your watch lists?

Outfit of the Day: Winter Bare Legs

OOTD 19th Feb Collage 1Hat: eBay / Jumper: Primark / Skirt: eBay (old but similar here) / Boots: eBay

Hi everyone – you can’t see but I’m waving at you all vigorously, I hope you appreciate it.

So, ever since my recent post where I expressed loads of love for Nina Nesbitt’s style, I’ve been thinking I need to start being a bit braver when it comes to getting my stumpy little legs out. I thought this outfit was one of the best ways to do it, as people will be so distracted by the massive hat and jazzy jumper that they won’t have time to think ‘er I wonder if her legs are a bit chilly..?’

OOTD 19th Feb COllage 2Nails: Barry M Watermelon / Rings: Primark and eBay (mix) / Tights: ℅ Charnos

And if you were wondering whether they’re chilly then the answer is NO, IDIOTS. The lovely people at Charnos Hosiery were nice enough to send us over a couple of pairs of their tights to try out. While I don’t usually agree with flesh coloured tights, I have to say that they actually make hella loads of sense for wintery days when you don’t want to ruin a whole outfit by wearing black tights.

These ones happen to be from the Firm Energising Support range, which are designed to help shape and tone tired leglets (they’ve even been treated with nutrients like Vitamin E and Shea Butter, ooh fancy). A pleasant side effect of these is that they’re also nice and thick, keeping any wintery chills at bay!

Outfit of the Day: Motel Cropped Alphabet Jumper

OOTD 27th Jan Collage 1Jumper: Motel Rocks / Jeggings: Topshop / Boots: Boohoo / Chain: eBay / Satchel: Primark

First of all, I’m so sorry for the amount of belly button there is in this post. At least I’ve got an innie, hey?

Moving on…

I’m in love with my new cropped jumper from Motel, which I actually managed to acquire from eBay for the magical price of 99p  NEW WITHOUT TAGS. Which might be code for “I’ve actually worn this a few times but I’m a sneaky snake and will pretend I haven’t”, but I don’t really care to be quite honest. 99p!

OOTD 27th Jan Collage 2

I’m also in sartorial love with my new satchel from Primark, which I’ve had my beady eyes on for a while. White might not be the most practical choice but I think it’ll be especially nice during summer to freshen up an outfit.

What do y’all think?

Outfit of the Day: Fluffy Crop & Leather

OOTD 30th D Collage 1Fluffy Crop Jumper: Glamorous / Leather Skater Skirt: eBay (similar here) / Bag: Primark

Okay, so I’m definitely noticing a bit of a habit emerging here with pastel fluffiness and leather (case in point here and here), which I’m very sorry for – but there’s just something about these extremely girly jumpers that cries out to be toughened up with some good old cheap nasty pleather.

This jumper’s my new cropped dream from Glamorous that I snagged at the Clothes Show for a mere £20. Every blogger and her nan seems to currently have one similar, but I can fully understand why. They’re SO cosy and SO comfy and SO FRICKIN’ FLUFFY.

OOTD 30th D Collage 2Rings: Primark / Brogues: Primark (surprise surprise)

I’ve been basking in a few extra days off work post-Christmas, and so went out for lunch with my sister yesterday. I don’t know why I thought a rather tight fitting skater skirt was a good idea for a lunch date that involved a huge portion of enchiladas and sweet potato fries (Best. Things. Ever), but the feeling of being about to explode like the fat man in Se7en was still completely worth it.

Outfit of the Day: Oh My Love Playsuit

ootd 26th d collage 1 Playsuit: Oh My Love via ASOS / Leather Jacket: H&M / Shoess: eBay

Hey there sexies! Just a quick OOTD to show you what I wore for a night out on Boxing Day.

It’s one of those outfits that looking back on, I’m not 100% happy with; while I LOVE the digital print of the playsuit, I think the shorts cut me at a bad angle and length, leading to a bit too much chunky thigh on show. It’s still a beaut playsuit though, and the elasticated waistband was MUCH appreciated after  a few days of Christmas bingeing (potentially also to blame for the chunky thigh).

OOTD 26th D 4Rings: Primark and eBay

I had my hair in rollers for about four hours to achieve the bouncetacular ‘do that you see here, and about sixteen layers of St Moriz finished off the look by making me look nice and brown, like a coffee table.

Outfit of the Day: Primark Tartan and Leather

OOTD 16th D Collage 1Leather-sleeved coat: eBay / Tartan leggings: Primark / Boots: eBay

Hey chicas. Excuse my chronic case of Bitch Face re-surfacing here, I think it was just a case of the Sunday night blues when these snaps were taken.  I featured these tartan leggings in my recent haul post and I’ve already got so much love for them. This is also potentially the first year I’ve genuinely liked my winter coat; this wool and PU leather mixed coat manages to fight my usual coat gripes by being a good length and also not too bulky for my petite frame – plus it was a complete and utter bargain from China.

OOTD 15th D Collage 2Oversized tee: Boohoo (old) / Chain: eBay (similar)

Teamed with an oversized t-shirt and my trust Jeffrey Campbell dupes (which are so stupidly comfy it’s ridiculous) I was pretty pleased with this a smart/cas outfit. But the question of the day, as always is:

What on earth do YOU all think?

Outfit of the Day: The Big Massive Fedora

OOTD 30th N CollageSo I recently decided to branch out a bit and buy myself a fedora. I’d seen them gracing the heads of many a fashionista and thought, yeah, let’s give that a go. However because I am an IDIOT I failed to buy one of the reasonably sized fedoras that the likes of Lily Melrose have been sporting, and instead accidentally ordered this massive hat from eBay. Honestly, it looks like a frickin’ sombrero.

OOTD 30th N Collage 2Hat: eBay / Dress: Topshop / Sleeveless Leather Jacket: H&M

OOTD 30th N Collage 3Boots: New Look /Rings: Primark and eBay / Nails: Barry M ‘Lychee’

While I do enjoy the drama that the big massive hat brings to an outfit – imagine, for example, how emotional my train station goodbyes would look if I wore this – I’m unconvinced of the ultimate wearability of the big massive hat. I mean, will my head even fit in my car?

What do you all think of the fedora trend? Do you have any tips on how to wear them?
