3 Products I Won’t Be Re-Purchasing

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Now, you all know that I’m usually all about the positive vibes. Aside from when I have to drive past a cyclist or see shoes made out of denim – ugh- I generally avoid negativity and focus on the good. However, I do think there’s a time and a place for some constructive criticism,  and a beauty blog seems like just that. I’ve recently found myself a little less than impressed with a few products in my makeup bag, and now that they’re used up I had two choices: 1. shake my fist at the sky, throw them in the bin and spit on them (dramatic), or 2. take some snaps, talk through why I was unhappy with you guys and then pop them in the bin sans-spit (sensible and mature). Curly Half-Up Ponytail with ghd Purple

ghd Purple IV Styler
If you’ve read my blog for a while (*cough* and if not then why not, hey?) then you might have heard me rave about ghd before – in fact, more than once. I’ve been a long time advocate of the brand and, while I know other electrical brands have upped their game over the last couple of years, for me ghd are still the ONE. Clearly plenty of other people agree, as this ghd are celebrating 16 years of giving all of us those good hair days – and to mark their birthday, they’ve released one of their bestselling stylers, the IV, in a limited edition Purple finish.  View Full Post

Peachy Fox Anti-Redness Skin Calming Cream | Review

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

In a complete 180 degree turn on my old attitude to skincare (which was, to summarise: zzz facewipes are all I need and I’ll be young forever) I now can’t get enough of the stuff. I’m always on the lookout for new products that will transform my dull, blotchy skin into something altogether more fabulous. Yep, I’m still chasing the dream of that #NoMakeupSelfie. I was recently sent the Anti-Redness Facial Cream* by Peachy Fox and, having seen it around the ‘gram a bit, I was intrigued to give it a go.

3 Best Brands of 2017 (So Far…)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASo, God knows how this happened considering my Christmas dinner feels like it was last week, but we’re now more than halfway through the year. EEK. In order to distract myself from the sheer panic of how quickly time is going (and that I really need to start putting more money into pension, seeing as I’ll be 70 in about two months at this rate), I decided to focus on some of my favourite brand discoveries of the year. Of course there are still five months for me to fall in love with new products, but for now these are my winners of 2017… View Full Post

A Weekend of New Hair | Bad Apple & Blow LTD

BA FeatSince making the switch from silver/grey hair to a darker blonde earlier this year, I’ve really been enjoying having warmer tones and a more natural look (something I never thought I’d say but guess I’m growing up, sob). It’s also SO much more low-maintenance thanks to having a root drag, i.e. a darker colour applied at my roots. However, nothing good lasts forever and last week it was finally time for me to have my roots done. My nephew was also christened the same week so I was in need of some styling help on the day too – and in stepped two amazing hair brands to help a sistah out.  View Full Post

OOTD | Wearall Embroidered Denim

Wearall DenimEmbroidered Denim Co-ord: Wearall* | Sandals: River Island* | Sunglasses: eBay

You know what I love? Well, as well as Game of Thrones, cheesecake and fake tan? Discovering new clothing sites, ESPESH ones where all of the clothes are fully on-trend and as cheap as the proverbial chips. We all know about Boohoo, Pretty Little Thing et al, but a new site that has just popped up on my radar is Wearall.com.  I was sent a few items from the brand recently, including this amazing denim two-piece, and it’s safe to say that I’ve found a new fave. #YourNewMcDonalds

McD Feat

Since I started this wee blog back in 2013, I’ve had some pretty nice opportunities and collaborations – makeup and clothes from some of my favourite brands have plopped through the letterbox over the years, and I’ve always been giddily grateful. But nothing quite got me in the feels and throwing my hands up at how #blessed I am than when I was contacted by the big dog: McDonalds. Ah, creator of my beloved McNuggets and the saviour of many a hungover morning. Of course I said yes when I was invited along to one of my local branches to find out what’s new for the brand (AND WEAR A HAT AND APRON). I mean, who wouldn’t?
