Oh my gaaaaahd guys, I’m only doing a bloody outfit post! It’s been a while since I’ve showcased an #ootd on the blog, but I’m so keen to share this look with you all. I feel like it’s basically summer in the form of an outfit, and it’s got me feeling SO ready for barbecues, beer gardens and a frozen cocktail (or ten).
I was recently invited by The Gracechurch Centre in Sutton Coldfield to take part in their Fashion in the Frame campaign. Over the months of June and July, the centre are showcasing the best trends of the season, and giving visitors a chance to win their favourite looks. As part of the campaign, I was given the challenge of creating an outfit around one of the key trends. And the fashion gods were smiling down on me, as I was given wallpaper florals – something which, as I mentioned in my Spring Fashion Faves post, is right up my street.
I instantly fell in love with these floral cropped trousers in the Gracechurch Centre’s River Island. I think the floral print is quite different to the usual ditsy prints you find in spring, and I’m obsessed with all of the frill detailing. Normally, I’d team a floral print with something pretty neutral, but this time I decided to embrace the summer season and team it with brights.
This peplum bralet was also from River Island, and in this season’s must-have shade of yellow. I then picked up the statement red tassel earrings from H&M that every blogger seems to be wild about at the moment, and finished the look with some simple but v. v. v. gorgeous white clogs, also from River Island.
Although I went little out of my comfort zone, it’s safe to say that I love how the outfit has come together. Each piece is also really versatile on its own – the trousers will look amazing with a simple white bralet or tee, and I’ve already teamed with the yellow crop with a gingham skirt for a night out. And of course, those earrings – erm, what doesn’t bright red tassles go with?!
If you’re visiting The Gracechurch Centre over the next month, then make sure you check out the framed outfits in the stores’ windows – all you need to do is take a snap of your favourite, upload it to social and you could win the outfit! This week’s trend is actually wallpaper florals, so I can’t wait to see how other brands are styling the trend over at Gracechurch.
What do you all think of this outfit? Let me know in the comments!
