NKD SKN Pre-Shower Tan (& Other Shower Essentials)

NKD Skin Pre-Shower Tan ReviewI don’t know if I’m alone in this (don’t you dare let me down and say I am), but I kind of hate having to shower. Taking my clothes off and being all cold and then getting in the shower and being all hot, and then getting out and being all cold again while waiting to get warm… it’s just straight-up HASSLE. And don’t get me started on how red and blotchy I go after a shower, because I genuinely thought that might ruin my relationship when me and the BF went away together for the first time (who wants to go out with a blotchy tomato?).

SO because of my natural disdain for showering, it’s quite important for me to have good products in the shower as a teeny bit of motivation. “Shower,” I whisper to myself each morning, “and you can smell like Soap and Glory’s Sugar Crush.” I love me some Sugar Crush so that’s usually enough, but thankfully I’ve got a couple of new shower products I’m also loving at the moment that are making my morning slog to the shower a tiny bit easier.

First up, we have the magical, wonder-inducing product that is NKD SKN’s Pre-Shower 10 Minute Tan*. Now, traditionally, the tanning process goes a little something like shower –> shave –> wait a while (don’t want those dots, do we?) –> apply tan –> wait a while, annoying everyone with your tan smell –> shower. The observant reader will notice that this involves showering TWICE, which is obviously a huge nuisance to me. I was beyond intrigued, then, when I heard about the Pre-Shower Tan from NKD SKN.Shower Essentials NKD SKN Tan

The process for this tan is apply tan –> wait 10 minutes –>shower. And that is it! The tan doesn’t develop in 10 minutes as such (we can’t have everything we want in life); instead, it actually continues to develop over 4-6 hours after you have showered it off. I have no idea how it works, but anyone can see it’s an easier process. There’s no fake tan smell, no ruining your bedsheets and no crying as you watch your dark tan go down the plughole. One thing to note is that this is a gradual tan, so you won’t go your desired shade of mahogany immediately. Howevs, after using this for a couple of days in a row, I built up a natural-looking, healthy glow that I was more than happy with considering the minimal effort (and showering). My one issue with the NKD SKN 10 Minute Tan is that I feel like I’m going to get through it far too quickly if I’m applying it a few times a week, and £13.95 for 150ml isn’t the cheapest option out there. However, if you’re quite a light tan user and hate the usual faff of tanning, then I really think you’ll love this.

Another current shower favourite is Soap and Glory’s The Scrub Of Your Life, which I received in one of those amazing Christmas sets. This is a slightly tougher scrub than the likes of Smoothie Star and Sugar Crush, but it makes it a really great exfoliator. Finally, my current shampoo and conditioner are from System Professional, a professional brand whose products I’ve picked up from work recently. The idea behind System Professional is that your haircare should be completely personalised based on your hairs’s individual needs. As such I’m currently using the Repair Shampoo along with the Color Save Fluid. They both feel insanely luxurious and smell amazing, so I definitely recommend checking the brand out.

These are my current shower essentials, but what are yours? Let me know in the comments!
